Abstract

In 55 closed injuries of the abdominal cavity and the thoracic cage 4 ruptures of the diaphragm occurred. Due to the noncharacteristic symptoms the rupture of the diaphragm is frequently mistaken. In many cases it is possible to close the rupture from the abdominal cavity.
