Total hospital involvement in strategic planning
Abstract
This article describes the planning process at a large teaching hospital, which comprises three separate facilities serving different populations: general acute care for adults, acute care for children and long term rehabilitation. With a combined bed total of 600, the three hospitals receive 250,000 clinic visits and 70,000 emergency room visits annually. Although run as separate entities, planning services are provided centrally.
