[The effect of altan on the functional activity of the liver mitochondria and microsomes from rats with toxic hepatitis]

Abstract

In in vitro experiments althan had no effect on the respiration of intact mitochondria in state 4 according to Chance and produced a high antioxidant effect in fermentative and ascorbate-dependent lipid peroxidation in intact microsomes isolated from the rat liver. In ethanol-induced toxic hepatitis althan restored the functional activity of mitochondria to the level of that in intact animals and increased microsome hydroxylase activity in CCl4-hepatitis.
