Abstract

The authors summarised the complex effects of fibrates on atherogen dyslipidaemia and the blood coagulation system, as well as the results of previous intervention studies with fibrates. They also give an overview of the favourable molecular effects of fibrates and the role of peroxysoma proliferator activated receptor-alpha (PPAR-alpha).
