[Recurrent aphthous ulcers: the etiology with special reference to immunological theories]
Abstract
The etiopathology of recurrent aphthous ulcers (RAU) is still unknown. Many local and systemic factors can participate in pathogenesis of recurrent aphthous ulcers. The authors discuss major theories of RAU etiology and especially concentrate on the role of immune system disorders.
