[Urethral instability]
Abstract
Urethral instability is an abnormal behaviour of the urethra associated with sudden reduction of urethral pressures. This disease is rarely described in view of its nonspecific clinical features and the abnormalities only detected on continuous urethral recording. Alteration of the voiding reflex is the most likely aetiopathogenic basis, although other urethral and neurological diseases have been observed. The numerous treatment options reflect the limited knowledge concerning aetiological factors.
