Abstract

The authors present results of a prospective clinical study on efficacy of topical non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (Naclof, CibaVision) in postoperative treatment. Fifty patients (50 eyes) after cataract extraction (phacoemulsification with intraocular lens implantation) were involved in this study. All patient underwent a thorough evaluation 1 week, 1 month and 4 months after operation. We have not seen any serious ocular complications. Results of this study indicate that non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs can be considered as a good alternative drug to steroids in patients after cataract operation.
