Treatment of cholerheic diarrhea with cholestyramine and a hydrophilic colloid
Abstract
Eight patients with ileal-resection diarrhea who were being treated with cholestyramine took part in a trial comparing the effectiveness of cholestyramine with that of a hydrophilic colloid. Both drugs reduced overall stool frequency and improved consistency, but a larger dose of colloid was required. One patient planned to use the hydrophilic colloid instead of cholestyramine.
