Hypothalamic dysfunction and intracranial arterial spasms

R H Wilkins. Surg Neurol. 1975 Nov.

Abstract

Evidence is presented that suggests that dysfunction of the hypothalamus is an important step in the development of the intracranial arterial spasm that accompanies subarachnoid hemorrhage and craniocerebral trauma. Speculation is offered as to the possible pathogenetic mechanisms involved.
