The pregnant psychotherapist in training: some preliminary findings and impressions
Abstract
With more women entering general medical and psychiatric training, the more that supervisors and staff can understand the impact of the resident's pregnancy on the resident and others, the more helpful they can be to her and she to herself. The authors' work was done at what was formerly the Woman's Medical College of Pennsylvania, which has had a larger percent of women in psychiatric training than most programs. This report is derived from a pilot study on the pregnant therapist.
