The incorporation of -14c from [1-14C] PALMITATE INTO GLUCOSE AND GLYCOGEN IN MICE
Abstract
The incorporation of -14C FROM [1-14C]palmitate into blood glucose and liver and kidney glycogen in postnatal mice has been studied. Incorporation of -14C FROM [1-14C]palmitate into blood glucose and hepatic glycogen is relatively high in suck ling mice. Incontrast, the incorporation into kidney glycogen is low in suckling mice and high in adults. The study indicates the possible utilization of palmitate for glucose synthesis.
