Side effects and combination anti-HIV drugs

No authors listed. Treat Rev. 1997 Nov.

Abstract

AIDS: Anti-HIV drugs can have some serious side effects. The AIDS Treatment Data Network has developed fact sheets on each available anti-HIV drug free on request. There is limited information on some drug combinations, particularly since triple combination therapy has only been used for a short time. Drugs and the related symptoms that can be responsible for hepatitis, diabetes, buffalo hump/lipomas, pancreatorenal syndrome, and hemolytic anemia are described. The standard dosage and side effects of nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitors (NRTIs) and protease inhibitors are provided.
