Rescue me
Abstract
AIDS: Several presenters at the 12th World AIDS Conference in Geneva provided encouraging clinical data on rescue therapy. One study that examined Ritonavir/Saquinavir rescue therapy reported success if the viral load was low at the time that treatment was switched from a failing regimen. Another study revealed that if treatment was switched early this drug combination could produce at least a 0.50 log reduction in viral load following failure with protease inhibitors. A final study resulted in successful viral load reductions using Delavirdine, Indinavir, and Nelfinavir on patients with extensive prior treatment.
