Abstract

AIDS: Despite a nationwide shortage of generic injectable testosterone products, brand-name products are readily available, although the costs are much higher. Cream and gel formulations are also available, and the costs vary, although these formulations tend to cost less than the injectable formulation. Currently, the cream and the gel are available only from compounding pharmacies, which are willing to mix the drug per a physician's instructions rather than dispensing the medication in its prepared form.
