[Tocolysis: dangerous for the infant? Apropos of 1 case and review of the literature]
Abstract
Tocolysis, commonly used to treat premature labor is mainly achieved with betamimetic agents. The undesirable maternal effects, particularly cardiac effects, of betamimetics are well known but the rare but serious fetal effects are exceptionally reported. We report a case of fetal tachycardia with mild cardiac decompensation and reviewed relevant literature.
