[Changes in the ultrastructure of Staph. aureus cells under the action of certain antibiotics]

Abstract

The ultrastructure of staphylococcal cells being in contact with oxacillin, cephaloridin, lincomycin, fusidin or gentamycin was studied with the help of electron microscopy. Differences in the changes of the submicroscopic sturcutre of the cells under the effect of the antibiotics inhibiting the synthesis of the cell walls or protein synthesis were shown. Teh level of the structure changes depended on the drug concentration.
