On the natural history of hemophilic pseudotumor

A K Ahlberg. J Bone Joint Surg Am. 1975 Dec.

Abstract

Seven cases of hemophilic pseudotumor were followed for at least ten years. Apparently adequate and early substitution therapy for bleeding in muscles and skeleton will prevent the occurrence of such pseudotumors. Conservative treatment of established pseudotumors with substitution therapy at bleeding symptoms is advocated, but in the event of continued growth of the pseudotumor and threatened perforation, radical extirpation may have to be done.
