Abstract
PIP: An examination of census and vital statistics developments in Hungary following the establishment of a separate Hungarian statistical system in the mid-nineteenth century is presented. Particular attention is given to the censuses of 1869 and 1880 and to the role of Karoly Keleti in developing Hungarian population statistics. The processes of data collection, processing, and analysis are described. (summary in ENG, RUS)
