Abstract
PIP: Population censuses concerning Hungary conducted during the period of the Austro-Hungarian Empire are reviewed. The emphasis is on the so-called Josephian census of 1784-1785. Consideration is given to subsequent censuses and their data content concerning Hungary. (summary in ENG, RUS)
