Abstract

PIP: This Gabon Act amends Article 57 of Act No. 5/86 to provide that foreigners who enter or stay in national territory without complying with the provisions of Titles 2 and 3 of Act No. 5/86 shall be punished with a fine of 180,000 to 1,000,000 francs or imprisonment from 6 months to 1 year, or both. A foreign resident who fails to present a card authorizing stay in Gabon shall be punished with a fine of from 2000 to 24,000 francs. The punishment will be doubled with respect to a person entering by fraud or a person offering aid and assistance to a person entering by fraud, whether the fraud consists of making false statements to obtain necessary documents or using false documents.
