Abstract
PIP: "The new [Netherlands] population forecasts differ in three respects from the previous forecasts published one year ago. 1. The forecast period is limited to 1997-2003, whereas the previous forecasts covered the period until 2050.... 2. The observed population on 1 January 1997 is 7 thousand higher than the forecasts published one year ago. 3. The assumption of the total fertility rate (TFR) in the period 1997-2002 is revised in an upward direction...." (EXCERPT)
