Abstract

It was investigated the efficacy of a diet with caloric restriction (1350 kcal/day) in correction of clinical and biochemical parameters in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus with overweight and obesity. In study showed that the 3 week use of hypocaloric diet allows reduce significantly body overweight, hyperglycemia and hyperholesterolemia in this patients without side effects. Vitamin and mineral supplements in long use of hypocaloric diet are recommended.
