Comprehensive critical care within the independent health-care sector

Abstract

With the development of a concordat between the NHS and the private sector, this paper describes how one private health-care provider has taken steps to improve the theoretical and practical training of ward nurses caring for the growing number of high-dependency patients in this setting. A critical care training programme has been set up, with promising early results.
