Beta-blockade of morphine-induced hyperlactacidemia in rabbits
Abstract
In morphinized rabbits blood lactate levels are elevated. Hyperlactacidemia persists after cessation of morphine injections. This morphine-induced lactate accumulation is completely abolished by simultaneous propranolol treatment. Phentolamine does not modify the action of morphine.
