[Psychosocial aspects of chronic low back pain]
Abstract
In many patients with chronic low back pain, no close correlation is found between the objective physical impairment and the subjective intensity of pain or the resulting disability. The process of chronification is the result of a complex interaction between somatic and psychosocial factors, as many epidemiologic and clinical studies could proof.
Discussion: Currently, these results are still neglected in clinical practise of diagnosis and therapeutic concepts.
