Abstract
Objective: Review of distending media used in hysteroscopic surgery.
Type of study: Overview.
Setting: Institute for the Care of Mother and Child, Prague.
Methods: Analysis of data from the literature.
Results: The author reviewed the use of distending media in hysteroscopic surgery with most serious complication--fluid overload syndrome.
Conclusion: Fluid overload syndromee is a very dangerous and often underestimated complication during hysteroscopic surgery which needs immediate and appropriate management.
