[Pathogenesis of fever after operations on the gastrointestinal tract]
Abstract
It was established on dog experiments and in operations on patients that the severity and duration of a febrile response after operations on the intestine are determined by the degree of contamination of the abdominal cavity through a physically air-tight intestinal suture.
