[Two cases of bacterial allergy caused by Staphylococcus aureus]
Abstract
Bacterial respiratory tract infections often occur. The importance of bacterial allergy of the upper respiratory tract is one of the most controversial problems in allergology. The authors present two cases of bacterial allergy caused by hypersensitivity to staphylococcus aureus. Anti-S. aureus IgE antibodies were detected and the skin reaction to bacterial vaccine was also positive. Our observation suggests that immediate hypersensitivity to bacteria, for example to staphylococcus aureus may play a role in infection exacerbations.
