Abstract

There has been ongoing controversy over the respective roles of insulin-like growth factor-1 receptors and insulin receptors in controlling insulin release from beta-cells of the pancreas. An acute knock-down experiment exploiting small interfering RNA approaches provides a resolution: both are required.
