Abstract

Adults also need to be vaccinated against infectious diseases. Standard vaccinations in adulthood include those against diphtheria, tetanus and polio -- but also catch-up vaccinations against measles, mumps and rubella are necessary. Special vaccinations are restricted to certain groups of persons. For the elderly, vaccinations against influenza and pneumococcal infections are of particular importance.
