Delusional state following acute stroke
Abstract
Delusional ideations (DIs) were seen in 15 patients in a prospective cohort population (n = 360) with acute stroke admitted within 24 hours of onset. Specific DIs may occur during the acute stroke phase, but atypical forms with distinct behavioral findings have also been observed. DIs are associated with right posterior temporoparietal lesions. However, distinct lesions were also seen, and duration was relatively short, mostly less than 1 month.
