Cobb's tufts: a rare cause of spontaneous hyphaema
Abstract
A 59-year-old hypertensive man presented to eye casualty complaining of blurring of vision in his right eye. There was no history of any trauma or coagulation defects. Examination revealed a 4 mm hyphaema in his right eye with no evidence of rubeosis or traumatic squeal. The intraocular pressure was 32 mm Hg. The patient was managed conservatively using topical steroids and antiglaucoma medication. A number of vascular tufts were identified on slit lamp biomicroscopy and confirmed on iris angiography
