Abstract

A summary is presented of the highlights from the 1999 National Health Interview Survey of Children with comparisons to previous reports, including a consideration of general health status, prevalence of asthma, attention deficit disorder and other learning disabilities, contact with health professionals, need for and use of dental services, use of prescription medications, and health care risk factors.
