Enhancing the delivery of effective mental health services to children

C W LeCroy. Soc Work. 1992 May.

Abstract

An increasing number of children and adolescents are in need of mental health services, although few children receive the treatment they need. Although progress in understanding and treating children's mental disorders is limited, a great deal more is known today about how to prevent mental disorders, what treatments are effective, and the importance of providing multiple services. This article presents current knowledge on assessment, treatment, and service delivery to help social workers improve the effectiveness of services for children.
