Urinary ascites in the immediate postpartum period

Abstract

New onset ascites in the immediate postpartum period is a rare occurrence most often associated with the Budd-Chiari syndrome. We report a patient who developed postpartum ascites secondary to an intraperitoneal bladder perforation.
