The 172 genes whose deletion resulted in either a short or long telomere length phenotype in the Askree et al. (6) study. Genes are represented by circles and are colored according to their Gene Ontology classification (upper left). The types of interactions among the genes are represented by colored lines, according to the appropriate experimental system (e.g., genetic or biochemical), as indicated in the legend (lower left). Strains with long telomeres are indicated by orange gene names, and strains with short telomeres are indicated by white gene names. This figure can also be found at www.uhnres.utoronto.ca/harrington, including links to the osprey Network Visualization software, which allow a real-time examination of genes and their interactions. Note that osprey depicts gene names according to their Saccharomyces Genome Database nomenclature (e.g., UPF1 is depicted as NAM7, and UPF2 as NMD2).
