[Enhancement of growth of rat liver cell cultures by lithocholic acid]
Abstract
Lithocholic acid enhances the growth of 4 independent lines of liver cells, but is toxic to colon cancer cells and fibroblasts in culture. Cholic acid does not affect the growth of liver cells, deoxycholic and chenodexoycholic acids are highly toxic to them.
