Side shift exercise for idiopathic scoliosis after skeletal maturity
Abstract
A total of 69 patients with idiopathic SCO1-OS-S who were treated only by side shift exercise after their skeletal maturity were reviewed. The average age at the beginning of the side shift was 16.3 years and the average follow-up period was 4.2 years. Size of the curve was 31.5 degrees +11.2 at the beginning of the side shift and 30.3-i12.3 at the final follow-up. The side shift exercise can be a useful treatment option for the management of idiopathic scoliosis after skeletal maturity.
