Abstract

Objective: To make clear the indications for each kind of inferior turbinectomy and to find out the best way of inferior turbinectomy.

Method: The nasal resistances in pre-operation and post-operation were examined with rhinomanometer in 97 cases. The time of recovery, the symptoms remained and the complications after operation were recorded.

Result: "Functional" inferior turbinectomy is characterized for its mild postoperation reaction, quick recovery and good therapeutic effect whereas the partial inferior turbinectomy is characterized for its serious reaction, bleeding and dryness after operation.

Conclusion: There is a definite indication for each kind of inferior turbinectomy, but the indication of " functional" inferior turbinectomy is wide.
