Tobacco--enemy of public health from conception to grave
Abstract
Parental smoking and the pregnant mother or infant exposure to environmental tobacco smoke (ETS) is connected with extraordinarily adverse health consequences for the foetus and child. This morbidity and even mortality is preventable.
Conclusion: From the perspective of the foetus and the child, every measure should be taken to promote smoking cessation by their parents and prevent exposure to ETS.
