Carcinoma of the male and female urethra

F K Mostofi et al. Urol Clin North Am. 1992 May.

Abstract

About 600 cases of urethral carcinoma have been reported. Such tumors may arise from the surface epithelium or any of the glands, and four histologic patterns--squamous, transitional, glandular, and undifferentiated--have been recognized. Metastases from other sites are possible, as are melanomas and various types of sarcoma.
