[Radiodiagnostics]

Abstract

We describe the activity of the Department of Radiodiagnostics in attend the victims of the terrorist attack on 11th March. A sufficient number of the department's staff were in the front line. In the morning, conventional radiological investigations were performed in 150 adult patients among the wards and teams of the Emergency Department and Medical-Surgical Institute, especially in the musculoskeletal and thorax sections; 12 children underwent radiological investigations in the pediatrics section and 3 pregnant women in the maternity section. In the critical care unit 120 chest x-rays were performed with a portable machine. In addition, 4 computerized tomography scanners were employed and 47 examinations were performed. Three vascular and interventionist procedures (embolizations in patients with hemorrhage) were carried out.
