Mg2+-ATPase defective mutant of Escherichia coli and thiamine transport
Abstract
Mg2+-ATPase deficient mutant of Escherichia coli showed an evident dependency of thiamine uptake on the oxidative metabolism of glucose, whereas the parent strain did not. In both cells, this uptake was completely inhibited by H+ conductors.
