Abstract

Merrifield resin was functionalised with hydroxybenzaldehyde under microwave irradiation. The resultant resin was used as a means for immobilisation and activation of alpha-amino acid esters for alkylation reactions. Alpha,alpha-disubstituted and cyclic amino acid esters were prepared in good yields.
