[Treatment policy for elderly diabetic patients in preparation for the super-aged society]
Abstract
Recently in Japan, as the elderly population has increased remarkably, the number of elderly patients with diabetes is rapidly increasing. Among the elderly diabetic patients, there are much differences in the physical, mental, and society viewpoints. Therefore the restrictions they suffer in daily life are multifarious. In the treatment policy of elderly diabetic patients, it is important that we evaluate their various backgrounds and so on synthetically and then provide the treatment which is suitable and tailored for each of them. We have to cure with the aim of not only prevention of being taken and progress of complications but also support and improvement of elderly diabetic patient's quality of life.
