Pancreatic arteriovenous malformation treated by transcatheter embolization: report of a case with hepatocellular carcinoma

T Kato et al. Radiat Med. 1991 Jan-Feb.

Abstract

Arteriovenous malformations (AVMs) of the pancreas are rare and frequently complicated by gastrointestinal bleeding. We present a case of AVM of the pancreas accompanied by arterioportal shunt (AP shunt) in a patient with hepatocellular carcinoma and cirrhosis. Therapeutic embolization of AVM was successfully carried out. The clinical significance of this intervention is also discussed.
