Abstract

The authors describe 76 schizophrenic children who fell ill at a preschool age. Nocturnal fears with a psychomotor excitement, illusions, hallucinations, and figurative delirium in the structure of dream (oneiric) derangement of consciousness were dominant in the disease picture. A relationship was established to mental automatisms. Conclusions are given about the type of the disease course, structure of the personality defect, and therapy of nocturnal fears.
