Abstract
Hereditary hemochromatosis is a relatively common genetic disorder characterized by excess dietary iron absorption and deposition in tissues with resulting end-organ damage. Early diagnosis and initiation of therapeutic phlebotomy can provide a normal life expectancy for affected individuals.
