[Causes and treatment of ventricular arrhythmias]
Abstract
Antiarrhythmic therapy is intended for relief of symptoms or to reduce the risk of sudden death. Recent observations have cast doubt on the causal correlation between ventricular premature beats, ventricular tachycardia and ventricular fibrillation. The therapeutic approach has therefore to be modified in the light of new trends, and take into consideration electrophysiologic aspects and new diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
