Corticosteroids benefit patients with moderate to severe COPD
Abstract
Inhaled corticosteroids prevent exacerbations in patients with moderate to severe COPD. The benefit is minor, however, and steroids don't prevent exacerbations in patients with mild COPD. The prevention of exacerbations with steroids must be balanced against the higher rate of fractures and glaucoma.
